Snowfall
PERSONALITY Abilities: Anti-Gravity L3, Wind Blasts L3, Wind Wall L1 This elegant she-cat has always been talented as well as a quiet one. She's always been gifted in Airbending, able to show a gracefullness that most never even dream of. With her being born with Anti-Gravity, it's all she's ever known. Snowfall is elegant in everything she does, from fighting and hunting, to the way she moves and speaks; it simply oozes out of her very being. Snowfall is sociable when the times call for such things and she does enjoy keeping up with what is going on in her Clan. The white she-cat is very kind and loving, which drips into her words easily. As she's aged, Snowfall has learned that most of the time it is better to be quiet than it is to constantly be speaking. Oddly enough, it was this livelihood that got her the position of High Monk. She never expected such an honor, especially being a younger Counselor. Her Clan trusts her judgement on when to speak and when not to. This also means that Snowfall is extremely adept at keeping secrets. She will tell no one else is someone comes to her in confidence. Though this also means that she has secrets of her own that only a very few close friends even come close to understanding. Snowfall is a quick learner and is constantly looking for ways to improve herself. She enjoys being alone but knows that in order to be an active part of the Clan, she needs to actually be part of the Clan. Some consider Snowfall to be detached from what's going on and those cats would be right. The she-cat, even in her older moons has her head in the clouds. She can focus very easily, she wouldn't be so talented otherwise but Snowfall also can't help but escape into her mind by daydreaming when she has a few spare minutes. HISTORY In the middle of leaf-bare, an older tom hissed anxiously as his mate let out another scream. Something was very wrong and the Medicine Cats from WaterClan were already doing everything they could. His mate had gone into labor early because of the harsh conditions this leaf-bare had placed on the Clans. She was barely alive, each scream getting weaker and softer. At this point, the Medicine Cats were just trying to save the kits. There was supposed to be three but none of them had arrived yet. Finally, just before his mate took her last breath, one of the Medicine Cat's were able to save one of the kits. She was beautiful, a snow white kit born with no blemishes. Finchfur loved his youngest daughter just as much as he grieved his mate. Snowkit was suckled by a she-cat named Lilycloud. She had two older brothers and an older sister. The only Airbender in the family was one of her older brothers. Finchfur and Lilycloud were delighted when Snowkit showed signs of being an Airbender within a moon of her birth, and an already powerful one at that. When the time came for Snowkit to become an apprentice, the Clan was very excited to see what she would be capable of. She was the only cat in a couple generations who had been born with Anti-Gravity. The Council gave her a mentor named Robinwing. Robinwing had been given a few apprentices before Snowpaw but she wasn't quite old enough to be part of the Council yet. She was also an Airbender who had developed Anti-Gravity over time, she'd just mastered the ability just two moons before Snowpaw had been born. Robinwing had also been good friends with her mother and Lilycloud. Throughout her apprentice training, Snowpaw advanced quickly. Her gracefullness and agility made her quick on her feet. She confused many with how she would twist and turn, never being in the same places more than once in battle. There was a downside to the Anti-Gravity that was hard for Snowpaw to maneuver around, hunting. The white apprentice had no problem hunting birds, especially when they took flight. But grounded animals like mice and the occasional squirrel were difficult. Snowpaw had to learn how to be connected with the ground long enough to hunt properly which went against her very nature. It would prove to be more useful than anything she could ever have learned in many more ways than simply hunting. At around nine moons, her family was delighted again when she showed the ability to move the wind. The next step in Snowpaw's journey began. Robinwing continued to be a great mentor, teaching Snowpaw the values of being an AirClan warrior. How she would be expected to defend her Clan while also holding a respect and compassion for all life. Snowpaw took the lessons to heart and was always excited to learn more. Every once in a while, the Guru and his apprentice would visit. Snowpaw greatly enjoyed whenever they visited their Clan, with AirClan's values of being as peaceful of a Clan as the other Clans allowed, it was almost like welcoming the Guru home with open arms. Right before Snowpaw had her assessment to become a warrior, she was able to witness something that few cats ever saw. The young Avatar was to start his Airbending training. He was close in age to her but he was already a warrior. The Avatar was flanked by a lovely she-cat and a tom. Snowpaw learned over the course of the Avatar's training in AirClan that they were part of his Guard. Being an apprentice, Snowpaw was told to stay away from him unless he approached her first. He had a difficult time learning Airbending beings he was from EarthClan originally but it was more than that. Snowpaw couldn't put her paw on it but there was something not right with the Avatar. One of the younger warriors got particularly close to him and no one was surprised when the cat waa asked to join the Avatar on his way to WaterClan. That wasn't the last time Snowpaw saw him but it was for the longest. The Avatar never stayed in AirClan long, only when he was deeply troubled. After the Avatar and his three Guardians left AirClan, Snowpaw was made into a warrior. She was given the name of Snowfall for her grace and kindness. A few moons went by and the she-cat fell in love with a tom named Bluestreak. He was a nonbender and was wonderful to Snowfall. It wasn't long before she had her first litter of kits, all three were born Airbenders. After the kits left the nursery, Snowfall was given an apprentice by the name of Nettlepaw. He had a prickly sort of personality that clashed often with Snowfall's more quiet one. It was here that Robinwing's lessons on keeping her grounded played a vital role. While keeping them in the back of her mind, Snowfall was able to successfully mentor Nettlepaw into a fine warrior. After his warrior ceremony, Snowfall announced that Bluestreak and herself were pregnant a second time. This litter of kits included one Airbender and a nonbender. Bluestreak was able to mentor the nonbender. Snowfall was also given her second apprentice after leaving the nursery again. Icepaw was the perfect apprentice for Snowfall. The two developed a good friendship that is still maintained currently, even after he received his warrior name. By this time, Snowfall was a very well respected in the Clan and hardly had anyone she didn't get along with. A couple moons after Iceclaw got his warrior name, the Avatar went into the Avatar State by the mountain. There must have been something very wrong because after that calmed down, the Avatar vanished with the Firebender Guardian dead. It was rumored that he left to become a kittypet. Very soon after another Guardian passed away. The Airbender Guardian came back to live the rest of his days in AirClan but he was never the same. He seemed... broken. Snowfall calmed the Clan down from outright panic long enough for the Clan to settle back into a routine. Snowfall was surprised to be asked to be part of the Council right after the Guardian came back. She accepted gracefully, the Clan completely behind her (apparently she'd been the last to know). Not even a moon later and the High Monk Counselor passed away from sickness. The Council had a vote and elected Snowfall as the new High Monk Counselor. She's held the position for four moons now and as the tensions continue to rise with the four Clans, Snowfall is struggling to keep the peace while they all wait for the next Avatar. |
