Heronstar
PERSONALITY Abilities - L3 Mist/Fog cloud, L2 Ice claws Even though he was given the name Heronwhisper for his looks, it also adds up to his personality. At first anyone can pick up on his sense of relaxed and chilled personality. Heronstar knows he has looks with unique markings as well as power, so as long as he has these two notes by his side he will continue to act this way. His calm manner can make others feel more relaxed but only if they see him as a...friend? Friends are definitely not his strong suit. Maybe it's because of the way he uses his words. Even from when he first opened his eyes Heronstar came off as not very social, now however he is social when he either wants to be (which isn't much) or when he needs to be. You could say he loves gossip but prefers to hear it from a distance, making him quite sneaky as well as secretive. Secrets probably play a big part in his choice of weaponry simply because he knows he can use them. Heronstar is extremely observant of other cats and what they say, making him a bit of an artist of portraying as something else. Despite him being a calm cat he is very much capable of losing that when he is tired of something or irritated. This will most likely take place in a real battle if anything. He merely loves the thrill of having power and if the opportunity to arises to have complete control he will take it eventually, one way or another. Battle is defiantly his strong point compared to hunting because he's better at reading cats than prey. Believe it or not, Heronstar actually does care about some cats. Of course the clan is a priority to him, but certain cats really do matter to him. His parents would be an example, though they may not still be alive they are considered idols to him. If Heronstar was put into one word it would be a puzzle. One minute he can be pretty closed off and antisocial and the next he will have no issue with being in the middle of a crowd. He comes off as a little strange sometimes as well as not always trustworthy but cats who are in his clan don't need to worry about that because his father's legacy is what keeps Heronstar going as Chief. HISTORY Along with two other siblings, Heronstar, or better yet Heronkit, became the son of Splashstar and Mistfoot. Since the first day it was already a competition for his parents' affection. It was extremely normal for Heronkit to often fight for food or even just for the best sleeping space, which was by his mother. Having no idea what world they had yet to see and experience, the three kits were treated like royalty. There of course was a lack of connection with the rest of the kits his age who 'weren't classed as blood' but he didn't need to know that, not yet. Often being the antisocial one of the three, Heronkit watched as his siblings stumbled in and out of the warmth that everyone else called the den. Some called it a slow start while others didn't even realise he existed yet, all because he lacked the understanding of talking to others unnecessarily. You could probably blame both parents for that, telling the kits that they didn't need to interact with anyone else who 'aren't really worth their words'. Though eventually this changed thanks to what he saw as yet another competition. His brother seemed to have friends, clearly proving useful in his father's eyes. Heronkit finally stepped outside for longer than an hour at least, only because the greed of looking better had pushed him to do so. Either way it worked more in his favour than he anticipated, being somewhat the new kit to everyone's eyes really brought attention onto him. It even got to the point where he stole some of his sibling's friends. Only when he reached the apprentice years did he start to feel really lucky. Having a slow yet strangely successful start to his life, Heronkit, now Heronpaw, started getting a different treatment from what he was used to but still had friends to fall upon. His father told him and his siblings that he is apart of a long line of chiefs, each one passing it down onto the next son. Those words were the point that Heronpaw and his brother had to snap into eye contact, they both knew what that meant. His sister on the other hand, to Heronpaw and Badgerpaw, was in some way one less competition to deal with. Heronpaw and Badgerpaw both knew that one of them were likely going to have to work hard for that power to be passed down to them. That was when the vigorous training began. Heronpaw was assigned his own mentor, one who has taken part in many battles, so he was told at least. Crowfoot was his name, a little stern sometimes but that didn't matter that much to Heronpaw as long as it got him to where he wanted to be. All three siblings had their own mentor who were classed as three of the best in Waterclan, every so often Splashstar paid a visit during training. Over the moons Heronpaw started to notice that his sister and brother resented him a little by the day. Perhaps it was just jealousy, he was showing the most willingness to learn anyway. One evening however, when they were tasked with hunting along with one other warrior, Badgerpaw being the aggressive cat that he was lost it with Heronpaw. Heronpaw was aware of his way with words, how he annoyed his siblings with what he said and the smirk to follow after. Badgerpaw was stronger than Heronpaw when it came to muscle but overall Heronpaw won thanks to his use of mist. There was no one there to stop the fight, the one warrior that was with them was far behind by then. No one needed to know that little scrap happened, only his sister found out and that was it. After training for so long Heronpaw was the first to be given his name, Heronwhisper. Leaving behind his apprentice name with his head held high, he felt much more confident in Splashstar's eyes as a 'good son'. Since then he often acted different in front of both his mother and father compared to his brother and sister. His siblings hating that part of him. Not long after he actually received his first apprentice, by the name of Nightpaw. At the time Heronwhisper was about 18 moons of age, making him a still a little inexperienced. For his first apprentice, he actually did quite well because it was something else to focus on other than his siblings. Everyone in his family had something to do which meant he could spend more time with who he wanted to, his apprentice being one of them. One could argue he only tolerated his apprentice because of her quick ability to learn skills. That wasn't completely true though, he had seen other apprentices be incredibly annoying and unwilling to learn but Nightpaw was not like that. Once she became a warrior it gave Heronwhisper a feeling of achievement, one that was essentially done just by himself. As soon as Heronwhisper finished with his first apprentice, he moved onto practicing his abilities. Clearly finding it much easier to confuse his opponents rather than go head on, he was strong but not enough. Heronwhisper found his own unique way of fighting, mostly using his surroundings and every little thing he had. Even his words were a weapon to him and it was rare that you could find him going straight into a fight with claws and fangs. Planning became his main strategy, but this doesn't stop him from being brutal if he really wanted to. Many, many moons later Splashstar fell ill. That only meant one thing to Heronwhipser, the same thing for Badgerclaw and Cinderfoot. Splashstar knew it was his time and so did everyone else so he made his one last wish during his leadership, and that was for Heronwhisper to become the future Chief. Though it was an honour to hear those words, they still equally sounded as sad as they were honourable. The fact that his father actually had to state a name only meant that he didn't have long, Heronwhisper didn't see it like that until he heard his name and no one else's. It didn't take long for his mother to die, the last person who he actually trusted. Badgerclaw and Cinderfoot were both at the bottom of his list when it came to trusting others, leaving Heronwhisper feel slightly isolated from the rest of the clan in a way. Still, as long as he felt he had power then he could block out his sibling's hostile tensions. /div] |
